What a Minecraft server check tells you
The result records the check time, not the time you open or reload this page. A saved result keeps its original timestamp. This tool checks whether the Minecraft connection responds; it does not repair the server, network or game settings.
An online result means the selected endpoint answered the Minecraft status protocol. Player counts, version and the message of the day are reported by the server itself; they are not independent measurements or a recommendation to join. A server can hide its MOTD or report an unusual version, so an empty field does not always indicate a problem.
Checks use the address and explicit port you provide. We do not follow Minecraft SRV records or guess alternative ports. An address that works in your game through an SRV record may therefore need the owner's direct hostname and port here. For crossplay servers, check the Java and Bedrock endpoints separately: they use different network protocols and may share the same players.
Why a server may appear offline or unreachable
No response is not proof that a server is offline. It may disable status queries, restrict remote connections, have a temporary network issue or use a different port. Java checks use TCP; Bedrock checks use UDP, which some firewalls block. If one check fails, confirm the edition and exact public address with the server owner, wait a little, and try joining from the game.
This checker only contacts public addresses with the Minecraft status protocol. Private networks, reserved IP addresses and non-Minecraft URL requests are not supported. Requests are rate-limited, and successful results may be reused for up to 60 seconds; failed checks may be reused for 20 seconds. Every result displays its actual check time so a cached observation is never presented as a new live measurement.
